White Rose Squares Halloween Dance 2021

Our dance, on Saturday 30th October, was held with some (appropriately for Halloween) trepidation, as it was the first Saturday Club Dance to be held in the Yorkshire Federation following the easing of the Covid pandemic.

Would we get any dancers, as clubs are re-opening at different times? - a problem being faced by all clubs at the moment. But the weather was kind, and we crossed our fingers and decorated Clifford Village Hall. We had done all we could to publicise our dance, and it had been highlighted on the BAASDC web page too, on the moving banner showing current events.

So we were extremely pleased to find that nearly twenty other square dancers, some dressed up for Halloween, were also keen to get going as they arrived from Yorkshire, Hull and Sheffield.

Philip Mee Called every Halloween song you could think of! He is a very lively and entertaining Caller, and gave us a lively and entertaining evening. We polished off tip after tip in Mainstream and Plus, held a raffle, and ate spookily themed Halloween cakes.
